The instructors here are excellent. They are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about helping students improve. Unfortunately, they are the only reason this review is not one star. From the very beginning, dealing with the front desk was frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. When I first tried to sign up for classes, I received different answers from different staff members about availability and whether there were spots open. No one seemed to have consistent information, and I ended up spending far more time than necessary just trying to register for a class. The biggest issue was the complete lack of communication regarding the adult intermediate swim class. I spent weeks calling for updates about the waitlist and whether additional spots would be opened. I was initially told the class was waitlisted because the staff member who could expand the class was on vacation. Fair enough. But after that, no one could give me any answers. I called multiple times, spoke with several front desk employees, and even asked questions in person. Every interaction was the same: no answers, no timeline, no updates, and no effort to find someone who actually knew what was going on. Th

Absolutely thrilled with the 1:1 Adaptive Swim lessons we have been doing with Yamil for our special needs daughter these past 7 years. What started out as lessons to assist in her navigating our neighborhood pool then led to developing skills to participate on the neighborhood swim team and we have kept up lessons into adulthood once a week for continued pool safety and exercise. She loves the water and looks forward to her weekly session with Yamil. He adapts them to meet her needs, which sometimes means week to week and keeps them constantly fun! We've done lessons with our other children before moving to Naperville and nothing compares to what we've experienced working with Yamil!

Hello, For the past year, my 14-year-old son—who has autism and ADHD—has been attending adaptive swimming classes twice a week at the DuPage Swimming Center under the guidance of instructor Yamil. Our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I would especially like to recognize Yamil for his outstanding dedication and professionalism. He is an incredibly hardworking, passionate instructor who provides one-on-one attention with unwavering focus and care. It’s no surprise that his sessions are consistently in high demand—I feel truly fortunate that my son has the opportunity to learn from him. What sets Yamil apart is his hands-on approach; he actively gets into the pool with my son, demonstrating each technique and stroke with patience and clarity. Thanks to his guidance, my son’s swimming skills have improved tremendously. Beyond his expertise, he is gentle, respectful, and attuned to my son’s needs, creating a supportive and encouraging environment. It’s rare to find someone who combines such skill, compassion, and commitment—especially at such a reasonable cost. I wholeheartedly recommend this swimming center, and in particular, Yamil, to anyone seeking high-quality a

My son(on the autism spectrum)has been going to this place for private swimming lessons with Mr Yamil since many years. The experience has been great. Mr Yamil has so much of experience with spn kids. He’s comfortable and knows how to communicate with them. I wish more coaches in this swim school were trained to work with different ability kids. Thank you Mr.Yamil!
